Dealing with conflicts in project management - and benefit from them

Managing and facilitating projects professionally – Process Competence in Projects

Your intention

Projects need conflicts! Teams will only become high performing when different backgrounds and orientations from the individuals involved are openly discussed and when personal disputes are conducted.

Time pressure and a certain feeling of helplessness very often make it difficult in day to day project life to come to solutions. As a project manager you need powerful tools to cope, manage and resolve conflicts. Only by this you can create high performing teams.

What you will learn

You will learn to perceive and analyse conflicts. We will show you different approaches and methods to manage conflicts. You will reflect on your own reactions in conflicts and your attitude towards them. You will acquire perceptions to help you manage and facilitate conflicts and turn conflicts into team performance.

What questions will be answered?
  • What are typical patterns of conflict in project environments?
  • How can I perceive and analyse conflicts?
  • What different kinds of conflicts exist and how should I address them?
  • How do I personally react and behave in conflict situations? What of this do I want to keep/what do I want to change? What can help me in my personal development?
  • What to do when I am personally involved: using facilitation to solve team conflicts.
  • What to do in a project in crisis to regain stability?

For whom is the training intended?

This training is for project managers, executives and project consultants looking for help and support to cope with conflict situations related to project work.
