Creating consensus in conversations

Managing and facilitating projects professionally – Process Competence in Projects

Your intention

Project results are formed in conversations. This begins as early as in the initial phase of a project. An efficient and successful conversation has a structure, a certain setting, and it leads to a shared result. You will need to enhance the quality and the efficiency of your conversation techniques in order to do that.

This Basic Module 2 'Consensus oriented communication (conversation) techniques' provides you with procedures and best practices to conduct conversations focussed on results and acceptance.

What you will learn

In this training you will learn how to plan, structure and conduct conversations according to the specific project situation. We show you how to structure the course of the conversation and how to support the solutions by simultaneous visualisation and documentation.
You will experience how these techniques contribute to excellent results and how they save time for you and for all participants.

What questions will be answered?

  • How do I clarify goals and objectives?
  • How can 'Active Listening' and 'Questioning' help me to lead a conversation to consensus and to best results?
  • How can I support the course of a conversation by simultaneously visualising topics and results? What can I do for documenting the results during the conversation?
  • How can I clarify and live my role within the communication process and establish an attitude accordingly?
For whom is the training intended?

This basic training is for project managers and executives, project facilitators and project consultants who work with and within project environments.
